Founder’s Message

Welcome to the Totoe Health Equity Project website. Thank you for taking the time to explore our organization and learn more about the work we do.

I am Dr. Grace Totoe, the founder and president of the Totoe Health Equity Project. In 2007, I made the decision to leave my homeland Ghana and pursue further medical training in the United States after graduating from medical school and satisfying the requirements to become a fully registered member of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council. This journey led me to the Yale internal medicine program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Connecticut. After my residency, I moved to Minnesota to complete my fellowship in Transfusion Medicine. I am proud to say that I am board certified in internal medicine and licensed in four states, including Minnesota, where I currently reside with my husband, Dr. David Totoe, who was my classmate, and our lovely daughters, Maia-Rose and Ava-Marie.

At the Totoe Health Equity Project, our mission is to bridge the gap in healthcare access and provide equitable care to underserved communities. We believe that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to quality healthcare. Through our various programs and initiatives, we strive to create a healthcare system that is inclusive, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of all individuals.

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about our projects, partnerships, and the impact we are making in the community. Your support and collaboration are vital in achieving our goals and furthering our mission. Together, we can make a difference and create a healthier, more equitable society.

Thank you once again for visiting our website. We look forward to connecting with you and working together to transform healthcare for all.

Warm regards,
Dr. Grace Totoe
